A Bar/Bat Mitzvah is a major spiritual event for young Jewish boys (Bat) and girls (Bar). It’s a once in a lifetime event where a boy or girl, around 13 years old, is recognized by Jewish tradition as having the same rights as a full grown adult and morally and ethically responsible for his or her own decisions and actions. The ceremony is a right of passage where the young person studies with a Rabbi or Cantor, leads a service, and reads portions from the Torah or Haftarah, gives a speech about it, and completes a tzedakah (charity project) of his or her choice.
Afterwards, there is a celebration, the young person is the center of attention and his or her family and friends attend it to support, revel, congratulate, and celebrate. The most important people in the young person’s life are invited to participate in this momentous event, why celebrating aboard a yacht can be one of the most creative and fun ways to throw a successful Bar or Bat Mitzvah.
There are invitations, themes, entertainment, décor and give-aways to think of, but having the right venue is the most important part of the event. You are pleasing young adults and older folks when you host your child’s Mitzvah aboard a yacht because there’s so much to see, it’s alluring, exciting and luxurious.
But first, here are the basics for your child’s unforgettable Yacht Mitzvah:
Keep it Simple: Most Bar/Bat mitzvah parties have lots of entertainment options such as photo booths, candy stations, specialty food stations, DJ entertainment. If you do choose a yacht, just being aboard is so much fun and interesting as it sails the NY Harbor that you’re recommended to keep the outside entertainment to a good DJ, photo booth or photo favors, and creative, but simple décor. But you’re looking for a serious career in marine field, then you can Find Yacht jobs here.
The Bouncers: We like the idea of hiring teachers from their school. You want the kids to have lots of fun but not get too wild or out of hand. If your child does after school activities like piano lessons and sports, those teachers, coaches can also help supervise. You want them to be friendly and not too strict, why it’s a good idea to hire people that are used to dealing with young adults.
Photographer/Videographer: Ask them to capture the whole experience, that means not just taking posed photos, ask them to take candid photographs of the kids dancing and having fun, of the décor and the views from the yacht. Ask them to show you their more artistic work too, you might love stylized photographs they’ve done for someone else. Some of your photos could look like that too.
The food: Our yacht, Royal Princess, offers in-house kosher-style catering if it’s what you need. You could have your own caterer too, whatever suits you best. You can either have the same menu for everyone, or have a separate kids and adults buffets. We can also do what everyone loves – sliders, home made pizzas, pasta, and salad bar. We can also arrange for special food stations such as rolled sushi, food booths like “dipping dots”, “white castles”, “cold stone creamery”, “cinnabon”. And of course, everyone wants candy!
The Décor: Blue and white are the traditional colors at Mitzvahs celebrations and so appropriate aboard a yacht because they’re the colors of water. A compass is a favorite symbol to use at nautical Mitzvahs but whatever symbols you choose, you can personalize by adding nautical notes like lighthouses and lanterns.
Royal Princess is stylish and elegant, something your child and guests will, no-doubt, truly appreciate. The main attraction besides the food and entertainment are the gorgeous views that keep getting better and better as the yacht sails the harbor. Here, you’ve been given a few of the items to keep in mind when hosting your child’s unforgettable Mitzvah, but there’s more to it.
